Mode of action-

Verticillium lecanii has strong entomopathogenic activity and can infect many insects. This fungus produces various toxic compounds such as bassianolide, dipicolinic acid, etc which has detrimental effect on insects. This fungus grows on the cuticle (outer surface) of the insect, degrades it and subsequently enters in the inner body parts and drains it of nutrients. This ultimately results death of insect.
